Frequency converters
Frequency converters of various types and variants are in stock. The drives offered include the A550 series for standard use, the V800 series for more demanding applications, the V810 series for the most demanding industrial applications, and the X550 series for pumps. The following technical parameters of the frequency converter must match the requirements of the application in which you intend to use the converter:
- What input voltage is available? Depending on the model, the frequency converters can handle single-phase or three-phase AC power of 230 V, 400 V, 480 V, or 580 V.
- The output voltage and maximum output power that the frequency converter can deliver must meet your requirements. Typical power outputs range from 0.1 to 20 kW. The value kW represents kilowatts, while 1000 watts corresponds to one kW.
- The converter’s frequency range must contain the required values. Some devices only generate frequencies close to the standard input frequency of 50 Hz (e.g., 48 to 62 Hz). Other frequency converters cover the entire spectrum from 0 Hz to 650 Hz.
- Most frequency converters, for example, can be connected to fieldbuses or Ethernet via a Profibus interface. The drive profiles defined in the IEC 61800-7 standard ensure that drives from different manufacturers behave identically on the buses.
- In addition to power connections, frequency converters can also have additional inputs and outputs. For example, it’s possible to connect a potentiometer to adjust the output frequency. However, most modern frequency converters feature a keypad and a digital display, ensuring convenient control of the connected electric motor. Some frequency converters can be individually configured using a proprietary programming language. The finished code is then inserted into the converter via another interface.
Frequency converter in stock
Frequency converters in stock in large quantities. What are the advantages of a frequency converter? Many applications require movements to start slowly and be precisely controlled. This applies not only to industrial plants or machines. An elevator in an office building should also start and brake smoothly. In addition to increased operating comfort, the soft start controller also has a very positive effect on the wear and tear of all moving mechanical parts and gears. Previously, variable-speed drives were only possible with thyristor control and DC motors, which involved high costs and high service effort. With the frequency converter, cost-effective asynchronous electric motors can be used, which also require little maintenance.
